This Year we have a new strategy! Our aim is to take up to 60 BT participants to Tanzania in November, travelling across two back-to-back events. Each event itinerary will be identical but running two programmes with a smaller group size offers some critical advantages:
• We avoid overwhelming the Maasai communities in which we will be integrating: most of the locals will have had very little contact with Westerners.
• With a major project (such as a clinic or school build), two groups double the active time spent in construction thereby improving the prospect of completing the project whilst on-site.
• The communities in Lake Natron have a desperate need for just about everything! Due to their remote location (about 6 hours from Arusha), transportation of building materials over inhospitable terrain is one of our highest costs. To cover these and bring respite to an all too easily forgotten district, we need to draw on the funding capabilities of a larger number of participants.
