If your application is successful you will be notified by Monday 16th April, and will be expected to attend a formal induction event on Monday 30th April.
At your induction event you’ll have a chance to meet your fellow participants, and we’ll run through some key information about Challenge Tanzania 2012. We’ll be running a fundraising workshop, discussing the proposed agenda in-depth and giving you advice on fitness, where to get you kit for the trip, and passing on to you all the best advice we can, based on our extensive experience running the programme.
You will be assigned a fundraising mentor and team leader – someone that has previously participated in a BT Challenge event – who will act as your first point of contact. We will make every effort to ensure this person lives or works locally to you so that you can arrange face-to-face meetings, work together on fundraising ideas and make use of local resources to help you reach your fundraising target.
In the lead-up to the overseas event we’ll send out newsletters to all participants each month, giving you up-to-date information about any changes to the agenda, extra fundraising hints & tips, and anything else we think it’s important for you to know.
You will be expected to keep in regular contact with your fundraising mentor, who will give you advice and guidance, help keep you on track with your fundraising, and answer any questions you have about the programme. Your mentor will be your first point of contact so you should approach them first with any questions or issues you may have, which they can in-turn raise to the programme management team if appropriate. However, if there’s something you would rather talk directly to the programme management team about then we’re only a phone call or an email away.
Each month you will be required to reach minimum fundraising targets, but if you can raise more in a single month even better, we encourage you to complete your fundraising as early as possible, then you can sit back and relax in the last couple of months leading up to the trip.
