The ongoing success of the projects you complete through participation in Challenge Events can only be sustained by additional and separate funding. A small regular donation, e.g. £20 per month, can help to support our African feeding programmes, fund teacher training and materials, or contribute towards medication and services in the clinics you have built.
The Give As You Earn Scheme (GAYE) is the easiest and most cost effective way for you to donate to charity directly from your pay. There are Tax benefits in donating from your gross salary, as every pound donated only costs 80 pence of net salary (60 pence for a higher rate tax payer).
Here is an example of how the tax benefit of a Give As You Earn scheme works based on a £15, £20 or £30 monthly donation.
Setting up a GAYE donation couldn’t be easier. You’ll need to fill in a few personal details, and keep Challenge Worldwide: Training for Life’s registered charity number (1130522) handy.
BT employees simply need to complete the online donation form on the BT intranet system (more information on BT GAYE can be found here). BT will cover all administration costs and boosts employee donations once a year too (in 2010/2011 this meant employee donations were enhanced by almost 40%), so this is a great way to support Challenge Worldwide: Training for Life.
Non-BT employees can set up a regular donation too, simply go to www.cafonline.org to get started.
